Design / Creative Engineer
1. On a mission
At DeltaQuad, you’ll work on technology that truly matters. As a pioneer in long-range electric VTOL drones, we build robust platforms in collaboration with trusted partners, deployed worldwide across defence, agriculture, and inspection. Our drones are reliable, user-friendly, and built to perform in demanding environments.
Within the Resilience Department, we safeguard DeltaQuad’s operational integrity by identifying, mitigating, and neutralising vulnerabilities before they impact performance or customer trust. Acting as the company’s frontline defender, we combine rapid problem-solving with deep internal expertise, client feedback, and intelligence insights to maintain maximum uptime and reliability.
Our core values:
Partnerships: We grow together through long term collaboration and shared success.
Customer focus: We think and act based on our customers’ needs.
Ownership: We take responsibility for what we do.
Innovation: We seek smart, practical solutions that work.
Excellence: We aim for quality and results.
Team spirit: We build trust, growth and enjoyment together.
2. The role
As a Design / Creative Engineer, you design, prototype, and implement structural and mechanical solutions that strengthen UAV system resilience. You develop and validate new components, housings, and adaptations that enhance reliability, ease of maintenance, and field reparability.
You bridge creative design and tactical execution — turning operational feedback, failure data, and field insights into rapid, practical design improvements using advanced materials, 3D printing, and precision manufacturing.
3. Key tasks and responsibilities
Design & prototyping:
Design and optimise mechanical components for UAV systems and payloads.
Apply additive manufacturing (SLS, MJF, FDM, SLA) for prototypes and small-batch production.
Use lightweight, durable materials such as PA12, carbon composites, and high-temperature polymers.
System adaptation & validation:
Translate field feedback into quick, practical design updates.
Conduct mechanical validation for stress, vibration, and thermal conditions.
Ensure compatibility and reliability across systems and configurations.
Collaboration & improvement:
Work closely with Integration, Flight Test, and Software Engineers.
Research new materials and methods to strengthen UAV resilience.
Maintain clear documentation and revision control for all design iterations.
4. What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Design, or Mechatronics Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in UAV, robotics, or advanced prototyping environments.
Proficient in SolidWorks and PDM within 3DEXPERIENCE.
Skilled in 3D printing and additive manufacturing (SLS, MJF, FDM, SLA).
Strong understanding of materials: PA12, carbon fibre composites, reinforced polymers.
Experience turning concepts into manufacturable, field-ready components.
Experience with FMEA, aerodynamics, and CFD is a must.
Creative, hands-on, and precise — balancing speed with structural integrity.
5. What we offer
Coaching and professional growth opportunities.
27 vacation days (based on full-time).
38-hour workweek with flexible working hours.
