2. The role
As a Flight Test & Validation Engineer, you plan, execute, and validate UAV flight operations under both standard and extreme conditions to ensure resilience, reliability, and mission readiness. You act as the technical link between the resilience department and real-world performance, validating systems under stress, EW, and redundancy scenarios with a strict focus on safety, documentation, and traceability. Your data-driven insights translate directly into improvements in hardware, firmware, and procedures.
3. Key tasks and responsibilities
Flight testing & validation
Plan, execute, and document flight and ground tests focused on performance, stability, and resilience.
Validate airframe, avionics, payloads, and communication systems under realistic and challenging conditions.
Analyse telemetry and logs to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Report findings and contribute to enhancements in hardware, firmware, and procedures.
Resilience & collaboration
Test systems under stress, EW, and failure conditions to confirm robustness.
Collaborate with engineering and test teams to resolve issues and optimise processes.
Ensure safety, compliance with test standards, and accurate documentation.
4. What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in UAV flight testing, validation, or R&D.
Knowledge of PX4, QGroundControl, and C2 communication systems (Silvus, LTE, MANET).
Skilled in telemetry analysis and reporting (Excel, MATLAB, Python).
Strong safety and risk awareness, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
Clear communicator who brings structure, ownership, and collaboration.
Valid UAV pilot certification – EASA A1/A2/A3 (mandatory); FAA Part 107 is a plus.
